LETTER FROM

President & CEO

Dear Community,

Soledad Enrichment Action, Inc. is proud to celebrate over 45 years of service to youth and families in underserved communities throughout Los Angeles County. As SEA continues to progress, we reflect not only where we have been, but also where we are going. Over the past few decades, SEA has grown from a handful of young mothers who sought to protect their youngsters from gang violence to becoming a full service professional agency that serves over 19,000 youth and families annually.

The foundation of SEA is a culture of care that was facilitated by the “Concerned Mothers” in 1972 to enrich the human spirit and build peace in the community. The love and support for high-risk youth and their families was present and continues to be a positive force in the communities we serve. SEA is a place where we show by example the value of human diversity to the community.

The youth and families we serve have tremendous potential, but live in circumstances that place them at considerable risk for violence, delinquency, and academic failure. By addressing all aspects of life and by engaging the family as a whole we help each client build the foundation for a healthy, responsible, and productive life.

After 45 years, we continue to develop strategies to build empowerment and make positive change. We are developing even more innovative and effective methods of addressing the challenges of our clients and their families. Through the adoption of new technologies, educational approaches, community building, advocacy, collaboration, mental health advances, and social entrepreneurship, SEA’s model of service is being sought after not only locally, but also nationally and internationally.

Thank you to all SEA employees, community partners and friends for joining in our mission and vision in order to cultivate hope and resilience in our youth and families.

Sincerely,

Nathan D. Arias

President and Chief Executive Officer
