Leadership, Intervention, Family & Empowerment

The purpose of SEA’s LIFE program is to empower vulnerable populations to become resilient leaders in their communities.

SEA’s Leadership, Intervention, Family, and Empowerment (LIFE) program was crafted out of the need to provide high-risk, gang-involved, and trauma-exposed youth with coping and life skills. The purpose of SEA’s LIFE program is to empower vulnerable populations to become resilient leaders in their communities. The LIFE curriculum was developed by a team that holds more than a century of prevention and intervention experience combined. Since no two participants are alike, SEA took on an eclectic theoretical approach and employed several evidence-based and best practices including the cognitive-behavioral techniques (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), strengths-based approach, trauma-informed care, and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs in developing the LIFE curriculum. The 20-week curriculum consists of weekly sessions that are 90-minutes and tailored for a gender-specific group format. The curriculum is infused with positive reinforcement activities at the end of each of the modules and a celebratory event upon the completion of the LIFE program.
