INTERNSHIPS

We offer internships each year to Bachelor and Master students of Social Work beginning on the last week of August and ending in May. Our interns gain firsthand experience as they journey with violence exposed youth and families Bachelor level interns have the opportunity to handle case management with individuals, while Master of Social Work (MSW) students are able to lead group and individual therapy sessions.

We request that interns preferably be bilingual and/or have some experience of working with the Latino and African-American community. If selected you must be able to provide your own transportation and be willing to follow up with home visits as needed.

The internships are a rigorous and rewarding experience with a commitment from Monday to Friday. This internship does not provide a stipend, but you can receive course credit and hours towards field experience.

Currently we partner with several educational institutions to select our interns, if you are interested please contact us via your educational institutions internship and career office or social work department coordinator.

Our social work interns earn valuable skills such as:

  • Learn to become a team player
  • Learn case management with individuals
  • Learn to conduct group or individual therapy (for Master candidates only)
  • Active involvement in community events
  • Conduct outreach to the homes
  • Experience a wonderful opportunity to journey with violence exposed families
